Mia was awesome, best food tour I’ve ever been on. Typically I do not do food tours, but the Cairo street food scene was intimidating, thank you for demystifying and giving us a memorable experience... and the food was awesome, definitely come on an empty stomach, we’re three grown men / just got off a long flight... and proceeded to skip dinner! All around excellent experience

Coming to Cairo for the first time, we knew very little about Egyptian food. This tour was the perfect start to our stay! We learned so much about Egyptian history and culture while eating incredible food! Our tour guides felt like lifelong friends at the end of the tour. We hope to get back to Cairo and take a tour with them again!

Food is one of the best ways to learn about a place and Bellies en Route does a fantastic job of this! Our guide Leila was so very knowledgeable and took us to some great spots we would never had found on our own. We were completely stuffed at the end but we leared so much and would highly recommend them for the great food and just a tour of downtown Cairo. Plus they are a woman-owned business and the only outfit doing food tours in Cairo! You won't regret it!

When visiting Cairo, I wanted to go beyond the pyramids, Sphinx, and temples. I wanted to see the real Cairo—walk the side streets, talk with locals, and eat off the beaten path. The thing is, without speaking Arabic it was almost impossible to do that by myself. That's where the incredible, friendly Bellies en Route team came in. From trying dishes I'd never heard of (and learning their history!) to understanding contemporary Cairo—not to mention walking the city's maze of downtown streets without worrying about getting lost—I was 110% immersed in this beautiful city, and the rooftop chat with Laila was the perfect end to not just our tour, but our once-in-a-lifetime trip. Highly, highly recommend!!

I live in Cairo and really enjoyed the food tour. What a great and unique experience to be able to take in downtown Cairo! Bellies En-route accommodated ya and took us to a variety of places within the limited time we had all the great tidbits of information shared. It’s also so good to see a company that cares about its partners and being socially responsible. I am always looking for an excuse to go again and highly recommend for locals and any visitors alike!

I booked this tour after seeing a YouTube video about it and I’m so glad we chose to do it! This was one of my favorite things I did on my trip to Egypt and I think it was a good idea to do it at the beginning of my trip to try the local cuisine. I thought it was valuable to not only try the foods but know the history behind them, how to enjoy them, how to pronounce and that allowed us to make good food choices the rest of our trip! We laughed a lot bc my boyfriend had tried molokhia before but he thought it was soup and on this tour we learned it’s not soup at all and is enjoyed mixed with rice! It was cool to learn the cultural story behind it. Nancy was our guide and she was wonderful! She’s lived in downtown Cairo her whole life so she really knows what she’s doing and tells us many interesting stories. She has a good sense of humor and made sure we were safe especially when walking around downtown as there’s not many sidewalks or any crosswalks. A must do!

Can't even begin to describe what an amazing experience this was. Our guides are passionate about food and the city of Cairo, and weave it all together into a fantastic eating tour of places we never would've found on our own. We've recommended this tour to all of our friends headed to Cairo - and we can't wait to get back and do it all again!

Tour guide was friendly and informative. However, he could of been more organised. It would also have been good if the tour finished at the meeting point. Cost of the food doesn’t match to what you pay as it is mostly basic street food
