Mahrousa was founded by Faried Zahran in 1986, as an independent publishing house, research and information center. Mahrousa three pillars are: 1- Understanding and criticizing the norms, while encountering political, religious or ethical authoritarianism, 2- Looking forward to the dilemmas of the nowness and the future, while reintroducing history materialistically. 3- Provoking repetition and isolation, adopting science and philosophy as collective sanctuary to humanity, and introducing literature and art as an individualistic phenomena of transcendence. Since 1995 and throughout a period of ten years, the center has issued more than 600 titles. We have eagerly tried to publish dozens of books in the fields of social and humanitarian studies. Meanwhile, El-Mahrousa managed to obtain a first-class rank among the specialized Egyptian and Arab publishing house particularly as a member of the Egyptian and Arab publishers union. Afterwards, almost two years later, the center showed interest in publishing books presetting basic knowledge in different fields. Such books concentrated mainly on youth and children while taking into consideration elevating the cultural level as a whole and human rights in particular. El-Mahrousa also got more than one prize in publishing field. Through 3 decades, Mahrousa released more than 1000 titles, introduced tens of pioneer writers and many literate groups. In addition to releasing hundreds of titles that cover the realms of politics, socio-economics, religious and mythology. Recently Mahrosa is focused on engaging with science, philosophy and comics, in addition to keening on translating 30 titles a year from worldwide acclaimed cult literature and fiction Eventually, in the realm of information services, El-Mahrousa is concerned with assembling and providing a diverse of collections for old periodicals, minutes and journals of legislative assemblies or any releases useful for the research centers and studies entities.
