Travel Data International (TDI) is founded by Mohamed El Ghamrawy, President and Chief Executive Officer, and co-founded by Philippe Wissa; Chairman of the Board. He has been in Travel Operations since 1973 with Mediterranean Tours & Travel, Gezira Travel, and Travco Group among others. He is also joined by a fine Board of Directors, celebrated Travel Professionals and veterans from all walks of the trade. Mohamed El Ghamrawy started his career as a Room Clerk on Hilton’s Floating Hotels in 1970 - the Isis & Osiris were the only cruise ships on the Nile at the time! He has been an Hotelier since then in Egypt and the Middle East. Mostly in Sales & Marketing, he served with world-class hotels such as Hilton International and Sheraton Management Corporation where he spent most of his career, with brief intervals with Holiday Inns and Ramada Hotels in the Arabian Gulf Region. During his lifelong career he participated – hands-on - in over five hotel openings including the Bahrain Hilton in the mid ‘70s; three Ramada Hotels in the Gulf Area; the former Holiday Inn Pyramids in 1979, and finally the Ramses Hilton in 1980. Later he moved on to Sheraton’s Regional Sales & Marketing Offices where he spent the rest of his hotel Sales & Marketing career. He also founded a successful Travel Agency and worked in that line for some years, thus gaining experience in overall aspects of the business.
