Luxor totaly so beauy
Took an overnight train ride here from Cairo in the summer of 2013. Luxor far exceeded expectations. The history, landscape, and archeological wonders were incredible to witness. Make sure to place Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and a walk along the Nile on your list.
Beautiful, clean and organized station that can take you either South to Aswan or north to Cairo. Train service is very convenient and well-priced. There is sleeping trains where you can enjoy a comfy ride.

Nice place in the centre of town. Train schedules can be a little erratic, especially with trains coming from Cairo. But trains are cheap and comfortable.
The less you can expect from a railway station
Watch out for this coffee shop in the train station. The guy tells us no menu with prices, then waaaaaaaaay overcharged for 2 small cafes. Most expensive coffee in Egypt at this price. Best to walk on...
