TSADS “Tanta’s Scientific Association of Dental Students” was first established in Faculty of Dentistry – Tanta University, Egypt in the academic year 2006-2007 under supervision of ex-Dean prof. Dr. Shokrya Ghonem. The first board of TSADS was transitional and lead by dr.Mohamed Hewedy, later on the complete board was elected and the first president was Ahmed Elkomy. And since then it was a true success story for a well established association. In the first years of its foundation its activities marked its place among and few successful student communities back then, our activities started from organizing scientific days, conferences, training sessions,dental campaigns,charities and awareness programs and as years pass our association grew bigger and stronger and the legacy of our founders continued into each one of us as a one spirit. Tanta scientific association of dental students is a member in DSSA-Egypt (Dental Student Scientific Association in Egypt) which was founded in 1972 under the law of NGOs in Egypt and one of the oldest well established associations in IADS (International Association of Dental Students), was founded in 1951 in Denmark, in order to serve the educational needs of dental students throughout the world. Representing the interests of the more 200,000 dental students in around 50 countries worldwide and having it’s headquarters at the FDI World Dental Federation headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland), the Association strives for educational and scientific excellence throughout the international projects and initiatives it manages. IADS is an affiliate organizations of FDI (World Dental Federation) based in Geneva too.
