Nice church, good location, lovely people around except that I disliked the heavy security outside [highly necessary because of the terrorism threat] because, it created a sense of fear, something that should not be associated with a place of worship. A place of worship should be devoid of fear and any form of insecurity but, what would the people here do in the face of real threats. Tradition holds that Mark brought Christianity to Egypt and founded the Coptic church during the first century. It is one of the oldest Christian churches in the Middle East and was the first founded in Africa. If you are around Maadi, you may want to worship here.
