Scorpion House definitely exceeded our expectations, and greatly enhanced our first trip to Egypt. The owners (Christine from France and Tayep from Egypt) are both archeologists. They are very friendly, and have been great with arranging transportation and providing us with information. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Tayep and his freshly made delicious meal. We all felt at home from the get go. We were a party of 7 of both genders and with ages ranging from mid-20s to mid-60s. We occupied 4 rooms. The hotel was designed by the owners themselves, and each room is unique. The rooms are very clean and have AC. There are many common seating areas, both indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed spending time in each room, admiring the architecture, Nubian domes and decoration. The meals were prepared upon our request. We would let Tayep know when we would like to eat, and he was always happy to accommodate us. I definitely recommend eating there. Tayep's an amazing cook! After trying out a series of restaurants in Luxor, Scorpion House ended up being our favorite. He's a master of both Egyptian, and French cooking, and blends the 2 nicely. (And let me add no one of us Europeans had any stomach issues during our trip) Getting to Luxor Temple was a 10 minute trip consisting of a 5 minute drive, and a lovely 5 minute boat ride across the Nile for 5EGP per person. The boats run 24/7. Tayep arranged a driver for our group of 7, who picked us up on demand and transported to and from the dock. He also drove us to other sights on the West Bank (Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, etc), and dropped us to the airport as well at a very good price. We're happy to have stayed in the West bank and not in Luxor, because we enjoyed the more silent and local ambiance and the walks around without the hustling of sellers in Luxor. Also, we found that the majority of the archeological sties we were interested in are actually in the West Bank, so it was all-in-all more convenient.

I wish I could give more than five stars!
Here's why I fall in love with this charming accommodation:
1) rooms are well designed and you really have the feeling of being in an ancient, traditionel house. Even though the room looks traditional, it is equipped with modern technology.
2) the host is very friendly and gives honest prices. He organized all the trips (taxi, guide, etc) and did not disappoint us.
3) last but not least, the food is delicious and also quite cheap.
4) location: it is just 5-10 minutes away from the valley of the kings.

Our stay in Scopion house was absolutely amazing. The place itself is overwhelming. The tradional style of the guesthouse makes it one of a kind! Our room was incredibly beautiful and very clean. The most important thing to mention is the lovely host, a family you have to fall in love with. They took care that we had everything we needed, a lovely Egyptian breakfast and dinner, we will not forget. The first hotel we have visited, where we were told to feel like home, and even it was only a short stay, they made us feel like a part of the family. Thanks so much for making our stay unforgettable, we will definitely return. Thanks to Robby from IQonTour for this well planed Tour to Luxor, you gave us the chance to experience the egyptian Way of living and introduced us first hand to the overwhelming hospitality of the locals.
