So glad I made it here. Murals on the walls in the courtyard before the church are amazing. Met some believers from all over the world here! As part of the Coptic area it is a breath of fresh air to know others believe in Christ as their savior as well and to cherish that. Spent some time praying inside.

One of the oldest churches in Egypt and the history of a church on this site dates to the third century. It belongs to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. It was built over the citadel’s old south Bastions, which marked the main gate to the fortress.
