The Giza Pyramids, built to endure an eternity, have done just that. The monumental tombs are relics of Egypt's Old Kingdom era and were constructed some 4,500 years ago. Egypt's pharaohs expected to become gods in the afterlife. To prepare for the next world they erected temples to the gods and massive pyramid tombs for themselves—filled with all the things each ruler would need to guide and sustain himself in the next world.

The rock cut tombs are of Pharoah Kufu's family members. Little away from the main Giza pyramids. You can take the camel ride here. A guide is a must to explain the details and also take some good snaps! Carry plenty of water and put on your walking shoes as you need to work out alot! Getting here early will help. You will need half a day at least to explore the entire Giza complex!
A lovely tourist place
rock-cut tomb is a burial chamber that is cut into an existing, naturally occurring rock formation, so a type of rock-cut architecture. They are usually cut into a cliff or sloping rock face, but may go down from fairly flat ground. It was a common form of burial for the wealthy in ancient times in several parts of the world.
These tombs are believed to have houses some family members of Khufu. Do try and have a walk around the entire site - give yourself plenty of time, avoid mid day & take loads of water! So much to see...good if you manage to get an official guide for much more detail!
Pharaonic Egypt is more beautiful and valuable than this, Pharaonic civilization was a greater than just building huge tombs.
Never been here.
You'll always face the naming (tomb) in each historical Pharaonic place in Egypt!, and that's not true! That would made old Egypt a big graveyard which also not true! Pharaonic Egypt is more beautiful and valuable than this, Pharaonic civilization was a greater than just building huge tombs
