Tutankhamun (/ˌtuːtənkɑːˈmuːn/, Ancient Egyptian: twt-ꜥnḫ-jmn), Egyptological pronunciation Tutankhamen (/ˌtuːtənˈkɑːmɛn/) (c. 1342 – c. 1325 BC), was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who was the last of his royal family to rule during the end of the 18th Dynasty (ruled c. 1334 – 1325 BC in the conventional chronology) during the New Kingdom of Egyptian history. His father was the pharaoh Akhenaten, believed to be the mummy found in the tomb KV55. His mother is his father's sister, identified through DNA testing as an unknown mummy referred to as "The Younger Lady" who was found in KV35.
You have to pay an extra for visiting it. The tomb is very small since Tutankhamen died young. All his belonging are in Cairo, so you'll see just the walls: famous and nice, but not so special compare to other surrounding tombs.
I love ancient egyptian things
Must visit location for all pharaoh tourists
What amazing and mystery place! Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun or KV62 is the standard Egyptological designation for the tomb of young pharaoh Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings, now renowned for the wealth of valuable antiquities that it contained, Tutankhamun's tomb had been entered at least twice not long after his mummy was buried, and well before Carter's discovery. The outermost doors were unsealed leading into the shrines enclosing the king's nested coffins, though the inner two shrines remained intact and sealed.
Not worth the price at all. Small tomb with just the main tombstone and some wall paintings. The main funeral mask has been moved to the Cairo museum and well worth seeing. The tomb of Ramses III is the best of the lot.
After reading so many articles and watching TV series inspired from original events, finally I saw the most intact tomb ever found, KV 62. You need to buy an extra ticket to visit this tomb : EGP 250.The artwork on the walls is gorgeous and still in excellent condition. The sarcophagus and the mummy are both there and in climate controlled glass. Photography is not allowed inside this tomb.
